The European Union is shaping Europe’s digital future with new Digital Innovation Hubs. Nordic Edge leads a consortium for a new Digital Innovation Hub in Western Norway.

Background:

For Europe to remain competitive internationally, all economic sectors must be able to reap the benefits of digital transformation. To achieve this, the EU is building a network of Digital Innovation Hubs.

South-Western Norway is facing an increasing need for transition from the oil and gas industry to new industries. The preposed hub will utilise the expertise and competence in the region to meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises.

In this way, they will build, scale and internationalise new businesses and bring about an industrial transition for the future. The consortium will help companies improve their processes, products and services through the use of digitisation, artificial intelligence and the handling of large amounts of data.

Partners in the consortium are: Nordic Edge, The Norwegian Smart Care Cluster, The Vital Infrastructure Arena (VIA), Norwegian Energy Solutions Cluster (NES), Lyse, the University of Stavanger, the City of Stavanger and Rogaland County.
