STAGING ENVIRONMENT

About us

Innoasis runs programmes and projects that drive innovation. The name derives from the two words: Innovation Oasis.

Our brand new innovation centre, Innoasis is the toolbox for cluster members to connect, collaborate, pilot and scale solutions for the international market. The physical building is under construction, but programmes and projects are being hosted under the nickname Innoasis 0.5.

Once the new build is ready in 2021 it will be the home of smart city players from different sectors developing and delivering the services and solutions of tomorrow.

Innoasis is built on collaboration, for collaboration. Its foundation is the works of Nordic Edge, Lyse, Smedvig, SR-Bank, Microsoft, TietoEvery and the City of Stavanger. Tenants are a tailored group from the start-up community, established corporations, investment funds, academia and public sector officials.

Building on these collaborators and Nordic Edge’s ecosystem, Innoasis will be a centriole for propelling a concept from an idea to the market. It will possess the expertise, network and tools necessary to develop and scale new services and solutions for smarter, leaner and cleaner cities and communities.

The aim is to develop a dynamic arena for networking with relevant services, lab facilities, events and growth programmes to drive business development and societal change.

Innoasis Interior

A living lab from the cradle

Innoasis is a living lab from the onset. Cluster members have been invited to suggest solutions to be tested during the building process and in the finished re-build. The building itself is an old social services administration office in the financial district of Stavanger. A forlorn concrete building in need of renovation, it will reappear as a centrepiece for innovation built with recycled, sustainable materials.

While construction is underway on the actual building, Nordic Edge and partners are cohabiting a space and running Innoasis programmes and events. The temporary set up runs projects such as Innoasis Science Talks, Microsoft for Start-ups programmes and Urbantech innovation programme. More programmes will gradually be rolled out.
